The first Potel - Aviron wines were made in 2000 and they are vinified using traditional Burgundian techniques and raised in older barrels - no carbonic maceration here. The crops yielded from old vineyards are naturally low, approximately 25hl\/ha instead of the usual 50hl\/ha typical in Beaujolais. Delicious now this should also age well too. From the 2011 vintage the wines will labelled just as Stephane Aviron.
